Now, secondly…. I didn’t get the job. The job as a multimedia designer I was previously talking about. But I made it to the final 3 though. So I guess it is not bad….consoling myself I guess…sad lar…

Letter

But I guess it is just another learning experience. However the employer is very nice. Thanks Julian for giving me a shot at the position.

Now back to looking and waiting for good news.

One more thing, daylight saving start today! So turn all your clocks back an hour slower. To my loved ones back home, the time difference is now 4 hours. Not so bad.

I guess I’ll go shower now..smelly after soccer. -_-

Dream.

Isn’t it funny when you’re dreaming, you are able to be that person you wish to be in real life? As far as I can remember, I had two dreams last night.

One is talking to someone that I am unable to talk to casually or comfortably in real life. But in my dream, we were talking like we were good friends. So casual, so relax, so how I wish.

Secondly, I was back in high school in my add maths class or something but my teacher was my primary maths teacher. As usual I was slacking and wasn’t paying much attention in class. Till now I could remember this teacher because she will shout and slap you when you do not know the answer. She was testing and scolding everyone. My turn was near and I woke up. I don’t know why I have these dreams, but it just feels god damn real. I was scared like hell.

Some ppl say it is a sign. Some ppl would say that dreams are the extension of your real life. You get to be the person you can’t be in real life or do the things that you can’t do in reality. I remember there was this period of time, I kept on having dreams about my tooth falling out. And it hurts as hell and it is so god damn real. According to a radio station later, that sort of dream was a sign of money matters. It was spot on as during that period of time I was worrying about running low on cash because I haven’t found a job to survive. Which ever way you want to put it, dreams are just dreams. Dry or wet, they are still dreams. LOL

So I guess nitey nite and sweet dreams. =)

Graduation…wooohoooo

Monday, March 13th, 2006

Looking forward to this week and next.

Even there is nothing much to do this week, besides UMSA stuff and soccer on weekends. I am pretty excited. I don’t know why but I hope I could see the special someone this week.  Cause next week I will be seeing my second brother and his wife on Monday too. They are going to be here for my graduation cum honey moon. So I am kinda excited as I will be bringing them around. So far I’ve planned to bring them to:

One Tree Hill / Mt Eden
Devonport
Domain
Mission Bay
Bay of Island
Rotorua
Piha/Miruwai

Not sure will do all of that but that is my plan for now.

One more thing that is going thru my mind is graduation. I am graduating on the 24th March 2006. At around 10am, I will be apart of the procession from Princes Street to Queen Street. And then I have a few hours to waste till 230pm where I will be having the ceremony at the Auckland Town Hall. The ceremony will take around 1 1/2 - 2 hours. I was wondering when should I invite my friends to take pics with me. Hehehe…at noon or in the evening? Aotea Square or Albert Park?

One more thing that I am wondering is what am I suppose to do after graduation? Party? Dinner? What do ppl do after that?! Help me? or usually nothing?

Good Friday

Friday, March 10th, 2006

Although I am dead tired today, I am happy with things that happened today.

I slept around 6am yesterday because I needed to finish a brief that was given to me. My cv was short listed and they require me to design a website main page. They require the candidates to finish it in between 2 - 4 hours and send them back a jpeg to them. SO that is why I slept so late. However the funny thing is, it was only due next Friday. I misread the brief and I finished it last night itself.

Briefsmall
okay ar? simple and clean lar…

Anyways, slept for around 2 hours and then woke up, got ready for an interview in a multimedia company. I woke up around 830am and prepared myself for the interview. Honestly it was one of the best interview I had. The employer was friendly and cool. It doesn’t feel that tension or serious eventhough he grilled me with around 18 questions. It went on for about 1 1/2 hours. However I feel kind of satisfied with myself because I was able to answer and talk with confidence. I mean I actually think before answering, spoke out and even joke a little. I can never do it last time, as I will be so tensed up and will just not answer the questions properly. Knowing me I am very soft spoken with new people and I even would tremble when I am put in the spot.

Anyhow I can’t really talk much about the interview because the employer actually reads my blog. He knew that I work in a salad bar and he even joke about the last post where I was making a crying face because my applications are rejected. He said that he didn’t want to make me cry again. LOL. It was so embarassing but it was cool. He was a La Sallian as well. But anyhow I won’t hold back from saying things I want to say here, just because my potential employer reads this. So if you are reading this, hope to hear good news from you soon. LOL.

At around noon, I met up with Previn and we both went to book and hire our graduation gown. I am pretty excited about it now. When I reached home I fell asleep infront of the computer. At around 230pm, I drove down to Mt Wellington for my conversion driving licence test. Guess What? I got it! Woo hoo!! So happy now! and so tired.

This entry is kind of messy cause I am half dead and I have 2 birthday parties to attend after this. One is at 730am, a dress up party and another one at a club. SO I hope I can last the rest of the night.

So here are the BIRTHDAY WISHES FOR ALL THE MARCH BABIES!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GJIN!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANNIE!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRENDON!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY FERREN!!

Alright, that is about it. I will try to get a little rest.

After the disappointment of my first interview, I continued to send more of my cv and applications to employers.

Here are the "good news" I’ve received….

1) Ogilvy Interactive

Hi Darren,

Thanks for your portfolio - I appreciate the effort it takes to get your own personal marketing campaign and CD together!

The soccer play and swatch work was pretty good - but we currently aren’t looking for any entry roles at the moment.  (BTW most of our work is primarily web and flash.)

Keep an eye on us and feel free to drop me a line every 6 months or so and good luck on the job hunt!

cheers,

Daniel Lee

Cry_1

I didn’t get it. But at least they told me the very next day. Didn’t let my hopes get higher and higher. Sigh…anyway I am sad but I won’t give up. Sent a few more applications today as well.

Been a busy weekend, UMSA orientation for new students in Auckland, soccer for 3 hours after that, then party, and today at the beach. Bad weather though, but still enjoyed. A little sunburned as well. My cheeks are red. Cough going away. Feel down abit these couple of days, but it will go away hopefully.

Thank you to all that encouraged and supported me. Now, back to tossing salads again.

SIGH….SIGH…..

Waiting for a call

Tea

I am sitting in my room now, resting, downloadin, chatting and just relaxing after a long long day. Drinking some hot chinese tea as well. Like old man liao….just because I want something hot so it is good for my cough and flu.

Woke up at 830am today and went for my FREE haircut! hehehe. Yeap I got my hair done free again at Servilles. To those who don’t know, the hair academy gives the public free haircut because the student need guinea pigs to practice on. But heck the results are good. I am happy with my haircut. Just that it takes longer for it to be done.

After haircut, clean the house abit and took a nap. Later went for my interview at Mt Wellington. It was the strangest interview. It didn’t feel like one. They showed me around, explained about the company, what they do(kids books..very cute stuff), sat with one of the staff and he showed me all the work that is done and explained some processes. Later the "interviewer" talk to me about pay, deadlines, when can I start, my visa and that was practically it. So my conclusion is either they are really in need of ppl or when the first time they saw me they knew I was not suitable for the job and just showed me around to be polite.

So now I feel pretty good and excited.

Good

All in all, I guess I have to wait for them to call me tomorrow or monday.

Happy

Hopefully the call would end with this look on my face.

Disappointed

Not this.

Cry

Or this. Cause I got to look for jobs all over again.

I guess I have too much time. Will rest now..
