Trip Up North

Monday, May 1st, 2006

It’s been a while since I’ve blog. Mmmm let me see…

Lets start about my job search.

I got a job as a freelancer for this ad agency, Omnicron. Honestly I was pretty lucky to get the chance to work for them. I was searching thru yellowpages and just decided to try applying with them. I guess it was luck + right timing. Anyway this company is sort of hiring me as a freelancer to work on a software with another guy. If I do well in this first job, I’ll either get more jobs or they will hire me as a permanent staff. So this is a trial for me.

Okay boring stuff aside now…

Last Monday till Wednesday, I took a short trip up North with Zaf, Yin, Tee and Indah for a holiday. We hired a car and drove up all the way to the northest part of New Zealand. Here are pics of our journey.

First stop. Whangarei Falls. Got to have a little break after driving. We had our lunch here.

Whangfalls

I got a little thirsty and drank some water right from the falls.

Thirsty

The weather wasn’t that good, so we headed down to Paihia to check in at the Backpackers which we stayed for both nights. Eventhough it was raining we did not waste time and we headed down to KeriKeri. We visited some historic places. We visited The Mission House. The house is one of the oldest in NZ which was built somewhere in the early 1800’s.

Hauntedhouse

It was a pretty cool place to visit as you can see how the people back then lived. The house was indeed spooky and my friend Indah has to ask the guide whether the house is haunted. And to add to that, the tour guide said that the upper part of the house is haunted. There are people that felt the presence of others. After hearing that, I was not walking alone anymore in the house. There was another incident that happened. After just touring the house for a short moment, Tee kept on saying that there was nothing much to see and sort of rushed us around. I was like puzzled. Why is he hurrying us around when we just entered the place? My conclusion was either he is having a stomach ache or he sense something in the house. To my suprise, after we came back from the trip, he only let us know that he sensed that there was 4 strong spirits or something in the house and feared for our safety. I was like so freaked out…..thank god he didn’t tell us then. If not I would have been the first to be out of the house. Lol.

On the second day, we woke up pretty early and drove our sleepy asses up north. Along the way, we made many stops for photograph sessions.

Hungry

Having my breakfast.

Stops

Random stops along the way. Ain’t it beautiful?

Fav

Few of my favourite pics. Look like some dvd cover teen series kind of thing.

901

Next stop was 90 Mile Beach. Yes the beach is that long. To get to the northest part of NZ, you will not miss this beach. Look at the two of them. Picture semangat…get in car, terus tidur..

902

It is not complete without some poser pics. This pics are the pics that makes you laugh when you look back at it.

North

That is how far north we were heading.

Capereinga

After driving thru endless gravel road, we finally reached the northest part of NZ, Cape Reinga. This is as far as you can go before you swim to Australia. At this same place, you can see the Pacific Ocean and the Tasman Sea meet. Cool huh?!

Signs

Us being crazy again.

After that we headed back to Paihia for our second night stay. The drive back was madness.

On the third day, we decided to take a tour instead of driving around. We took the cruise that brings you to see dolphins and also the famous Hole in the Rock.

Dolphin

The only lucky picture that I took of the dolphin.

Holeintherock

Hole in the rock. It is created from the strong current, winds and bla bla..u know lar…

After completing the cruise, the cruise dropped us in Russell. We visited some historic places and was able to witness how books are done in the olden days. I tell you, it is lots of hassle.

Cute

Trying to be cute…

Asian

Our very own version of how asian like to pose with numbers.

Opp

Opportunity shop? I think Tee has his own ideas of a opportunity shop. Taking opportunity maybe? Just look at him…

Church

We even visited a church.

Not happy we that, we took the ferry back to Paihia.

Ferryback

and then visited another church. =P
